We use your information for the following purposes:

    • Service delivery: To provide will visualization, executor tools, jurisdiction-specific guidance, and advisor resources.

    3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

    • Service providers: We use third-party service providers (including cloud hosting, authentication, and payment processing) that process data on our behalf. We select providers that maintain commercially reasonable security practices. Our primary infrastructure provider is Supabase (database and authentication).
    • Advisor-client sharing: If you use the advisor sharing feature, visualization data you choose to share will be accessible to the designated recipient via a unique link. You control what is shared and with whom.
    • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of EstateClarity, our users, or the public.
    • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to the same privacy protections described in this Policy.

    4. Document Security and Handling

Given the sensitive nature of estate planning documents, we apply enhanced security measures:

    • Encryption: We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your data. Our infrastructure providers encrypt data in transit and at rest using industry-standard protocols.
    • Access controls: Our Service is designed to restrict document access to the authenticated account holder. We do not intentionally access your documents except as required for automated processing or, with your express consent, for technical support purposes.
    • Data isolation: Our Service is designed to logically separate each user's documents and analysis results from those of other users.
    • Deletion: You may request deletion of any uploaded document and its associated analysis at any time by contacting us or through available account controls. We will remove deleted documents from our active systems within a reasonable timeframe. Backup copies are purged in accordance with our infrastructure provider's standard retention schedule.

    5. Data Retention

    • Active accounts: We retain your personal information and uploaded documents for as long as your account remains active and as necessary to provide the Service.
    • Account deletion: You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting hello@estate-clarity.com. Where available, you may also initiate deletion through your account settings. We will use reasonable efforts to process deletion requests within 30 days.
    • Post-deletion: Following account deletion, we may retain anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you for analytical purposes. Backup copies of your data may persist for up to 90 days before automatic purging.
